Local Cambridge Tutoring Business Named Finalist in National Tutoring Awards

Rob and Lynne Kerrison, owners of Cambridge-based tutoring business, Tutor Doctor, are celebrating after being selected as finalists for a national tutoring award. The husband-and-wife led team have been hand-picked by a panel of judges and are now in the running to win the National Tutoring ‘Best Tuition Delivery to Schools’ Award 2023.

“We were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in these prestigious industry awards,” said Rob. “We’re 13 years into our business, and it’s extremely rewarding to see that we’re being recognised for our collaboration with schools in and around Cambridge and how our work has created a real impact on students, particularly those who are disadvantaged. We’re really proud that Tutor Doctor Cambridge has been acknowledged for the work across Cambridgeshire and further afield from the schools we have been working with as part of our work on the Department of Education’s National Tutoring Programme”.”

Tutor Doctor Cambridge offers in-home and online one-to-one tutoring to help students from across the region achieve their potential. The sole aim of the couple’s business is to change the trajectory of children’s lives for the better. This academic year, the business has delivered tutoring programmes to over 30 school partners and local authorities. With 200 tutors, Tutor Doctor Cambridge delivers around 20,000 hours of tutoring each year, and about 65% of that is to schools and council clients, where the work they are doing is with significantly disadvantaged students often battling SEMH issues and those unable to access mainstream schooling.

“Over the years we have grown in scale and reputation to be the leading tutoring agency across Cambridge, so we are delighted to be recognised with this great accolade. We have an amazing support team based at our office in Saffron Walden, coupled with our pool of exceptional tutors, and they have enabled us to extend the business and deliver the service that all of our clients and students expect of us. Together, we all work really hard to inspire and make a difference. We’re now waiting with great anticipation for the award ceremony later this month. Fingers crossed,” added Lynne.

The second annual National Tutoring Awards, brought to you by The Tutors’ Association, showcases the quality and diversity of professional tutors and tuition businesses. They identify individuals and organisations that can demonstrate how they have made a transformative difference to students’ academic careers and life chances and work tirelessly to support students across the UK and internationally.

Winners will be announced at the glittering awards ceremony in London on Friday, 30th June 2023.
