Folly Farm Equestrian Centre in Peterborough

If you are looking for a local, friendly and welcoming equestrian centre, then Folly Farm Equestrian Centre is for you.

With us it is personal. We are a small, family-run riding school and livery yard in Yaxley, Peterborough, where we also have a small shop selling equestrian supplies and pet food.

The team here at Folly Farm are well-known for their fun and friendly approach, but we offer professionalism and experience too. You know you are in safe hands when you come to Folly Farm – after all, we are a 5-star rated, licensed and approved Pony Club Centre!

In fact, owner Rebecca Hardy has over 20 years’ experience working with horses, and the riding school celebrated its 10th year this summer! The team have lots of experience in teaching, backing, schooling, and retraining horses with backgrounds in dressage, showjumping and natural horsemanship.

Whilst we have had to put the 10-year anniversary celebration on hold, we have reopened and offer a wide range of services for both the horse owner and horse enthusiast.

For horse owners, we can provide full and working livery services, clinics and lessons, as well as boot camps and schooling services.

If you have a problem horse, a spooky horse, or you need a kickstart, then help is at hand – talk to us about how we can help you and your horse; we offer both traditional and natural horsemanship techniques to help you overcome challenges and progress.

No horse – no problem! Folly Farm Equestrian Centre offers a wide range of ridden and non-ridden activities for all ages. With everything from tiny tot lessons, children’s lessons, jumping lessons and horseball, to pony club, children’s and adult camps, and home school sessions – there really is something for everyone!

We even have courses to teach parents how to look after a horse if you’re considering buying for your pony mad child/ren.

For children, horse riding is not only fun but helps with concentration, gross motor skills and confidence. Children learn about looking after and caring for another being, enjoy being out in the fresh air, and form friendships that last a lifetime!

For adults, especially at times like this, when stress levels can be high, horse riding is the perfect treatment. It’s great for your health and well-being, and enjoying the fresh air and being close to nature does wonders for your mood. Even a short ride on a horse can make a real difference in lowering your stress and anxiety levels.

If you are looking for something fun to do with the family, a new hobby for you or a treat for your children – why not give us a call!
