What does afternoon tea mean to you? Tranquility and peace of mind? Perfect harmony and mindfulness? Afternoon tea is ingrained in British culture; combining elements of technicolor, with the crimson flashes of ripe strawberries to ravishing rays of white from the pots of clotted cream, afternoon tea is heaven. From 8th to 15th August the Old Copper Kettle are celebrating National Afternoon Tea Week. At The Old Copper Kettle, waiters and waitresses delight in offering stands piled high with delightful clotted cream, tempting rose-red jam, and beautiful arrays of scones and miniature tray bake cakes, all served with a pot of indulgent tea in china teacups. It is an intricate and elaborate affair, bringing this historic tradition and a moment of calm to customers of all ages

Combining this expression of talent with the tantalising tea, coffee and cake, creates the perfect atmosphere to encourage and nurture creative talents. In the tearoom, there’s handcrafted jewelry and accessories lining the walls in wooden antique cabinets. The items are for sale if anything takes your fancy, investing in someone’s time, effort, and talent.

The Old Sweet and Treat Shop at The Old Copper Kettle

The Old Copper Kettle also houses the Sweet Shop. This offers a mouthwatering combination of retro sweets and tantalising Lincolnshires own famous Laddies ice creams  . Alongside the intricate and fascinating cake flavors regularly showcased in the main tearoom, the Sweet Shop is a more laidback array of traditional ice cream flavors. The Sweet Shop evokes memories of childhood treats, going to the local corner shop to watch the shopkeeper carefully weighing sweets and place them into pink and white striped paper bags. It’s true sentimental nostalgia. The ice cream offered here can be used to make milkshakes in a variety of tempting flavours. Go for wild fruit and rum & raisin, or the more traditional strawberry and banana.
